If you're looking for peace and quiet, as well as cheap accommodation, MAria's Backpackers Accommodation, just off the Ara Metua in Arotangi, is the best choice. Rooms cost 20 NZ$ a single, 36 NZ$ a double, and there is a common bathroom. If you like making new connections with people from all around the world, go somewhere else, as this place is one where tourists don't flock too much :)
